Dog I'm dog-sitting is changing.. afraid of what the owners think?

He is very well trained when we first received him. He slept in his cage every night and he didn't make a sound. Now, he cries and yelps when in his cage when we put him in at night. Is it because our own dog gets to sleep on the bed with us so now he wants to do the same? Also, the dog is constantly looking for human food or my dog's wet foot; he doesn't eat his kibble now. He barks when we eat human food too. I don't want to change the dog because I'm afraid of how the owners are going to react.. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I never gave him human food nor had him sleep on my bed until the yelping started! help please :)
