If i sign up for a college course with award certificate on the day of starting work will I get the discount?

The problem is this I want to sign up for a course and need the discount I would get from being on job seekers to help me pay for it. I haven't received the award certificate from the DWP (job centre) which confirms I am on job seekers and is what I would have to take in with me. If i don't get it tomorrow I will have to take it in on Tuesday and I am starting work on Tuesday. Will I be able to get the discount on Tuesday? Would they know at the college?
