My diabetic dog hates her shots? Help!?

She was diagnosed a few months back, and shot time is stressful on both the shot giver (either my brother or I) and my 12 year old lab mix. She rolls over, pushes us away with her paws, runs away, yelps loud when the shot is given, yelps loud when the needle is nowhere near her, and has even tried nipping at us, something I never thought she would do. My family and I are at our wits end. We are close to putting her down. Any tips how to make it easier to give the shots? Is there anything that the vet can do to ease the stress? Is there like a thing that they can implant into her like on her back that we can just inject the insulin into that without stress and pain?
