What's wrong with me "down there"?

I'm going to sound so silly, but I'm seriously beginning to wonder if my vagina has a hole. I'm sixteen, a virgin, and I know I can't be entirely imperforate because I've had my period, and I get wet. But my boyfriend can't even get the tip of his finger in me without me yelping in pain. The weird part is, I can't get MY finger in either, not even the tip. In fact I can't even FIND the hole (I've looked in the mirror and everything and don't see an opening, even tried to compare with diagrams). What's wrong? We've been dating 9 months and can't have sex! Microperforate, vaginismus, what's WRONG? am i just tight? Is this normal?
