My last move was a nightmare even though it was just from the Bronx to Brooklyn, so I want to make sure this move goes as smoothly as possible since it's long distance. so I'm exhausting all my sources and asking for any and all recommendations for moving companies.

All puppies are like that. It just takes them time to reilize whos boss. What i did when i got my puppy (and she bit a lot) was hold her mouth shut when she tried to bite me. My dog gets cramps when she is very excited or when she is getting up from laying down?

these cramps or charlie horses are describe as: her hind leg on her right side will curl in and her head will pull towards the hind leg on that side and she will continue going even if she is only on 3 legs. of course she is yelping too. There have even been accidents at dog shows in which smaller dogs have been lunged at and killed as prey. This is an asset when working in close quarters with large cattle, but not when they are in a pet environment around smaller animals. Given that the dog has this degree of prey drive don't leave him alone with smaller animals. He can be trained to keep it turned off when you are present, but you can't control what he does when you are not right there. A trainer experienced in working with high drive dogs such as police K9s would be very useful here. Their dogs have to be under complete control even with squirrels and other prey animals all around them.

I started Chase on June 15th and I found the job so boring and repetitive. Ok i have a pitbull puppy and yes i mean a puppy! They said she was like around 8 weeks or a little older and that she was big for her age. Well she is an inside dog. (i bathe her right after). she does eat: so i feed her very often, i keep her hydrated, cushioned, right temperature, very rare amount of times that i leave her side. i have givin her everything i can except medical attention, we are able to take care of her money wise but everyone goes through a "being broke" stage and i am unfortunately in that stage at the worst time when my baby girl needs me most. 10 week old puppy -- Advice needed?

I was wondering if it's normal that my 10 week old puppy bites and puts his mouth on everything... I mean literally the only time he's not biting pants, shoes, hands, arms, toys, etc... First an emergency vet is going to be much more expensive than the average vet office estimate. Still pricey but you could try contacting any vet schools remotely close by including UGA. If you don't have the funds or ability to pay, the kindest option if dog doesn't improve is to put down. The majority of pet owners could not afford to spend that amount of money. I don't believe my dogs would want me to suffer major financial hardship to simply keep them alive. Any assistance from charities right now is extremely limited. Good luck for your dog!

How do I help my pup overcome a fear of large dogs?

I have a 4 and a half month old corgi pup and yesterday I took her to the dog park for the first time. My boyfriend and I practiced come and off leash walking. Why is my westie afraid of the Hair dryer?

I practice shooting with a bb gun sometimes and when I take it out of the closet, he goes crazy! What I did was set the gun [locked with no bb's of course] on the ground and waited awhile. Eventually he got used to it and realized it wouldn't hurt him. I had to do this a few times but he got the idea soon enough. Try doing the same thing with the dryer. My golden retreiver is driving me nuts?

Today I let my dog out side to tinkle and I turned my back on her for one second. The next thing I know she yelped and started limping up the stairs to the back door. I got her and tried to figure out what happened. I checked and her bones aren't broken. I think she may have gotten stung by something but when I examined her leg I found no marks. She is limping pretty bad and will walk only if she has to but mostly she is staying laid down and the hurt leg keeps twitching. She is a 3 year old shih tzu. What should I do?

Why does my dog yelp when being picked up?

We got our dog when she was 6 years old, never properly socialized, etc. but she has come a long way and is very sweet. However, my boyfriend can pick this dog up different ways (she doesn't like it but doesn't do anything). If I try to do the SAME EXACT thing she yelps and will bite (she's bitten me once). I am not hurting her at all. The two ways we've picked her up is near butt area and her chest OR her butt area and behind her front legs. But for me, it doesn't really matter, she yelps anyway. She will yelp at other people too where they would just stop and let her go.......Only a couple times have I been able to pick her up. It's very frustrating and not excusable for her to do that even though no one else was bitten. Is there any way to fix this other than simply not picking her up? WHat should I do about my landlord?

It's good you're asking questions, but you're asking the wrong question. The camera body is NOT more important than the lens, you've got it backwards. Once you've bought into a camera system you're stuck with it as lenses aren't interchangeable between brands. You probably can buy a grey import camera in Canada for similar money if you shop around. I'd buy a 3 year warranty on top of it. I'm not familiar with both of those cameras, so I don't know what features are missing, but both brands are good and you can always purchase better lenses down the track.

My dog keep vomiting...?

Ok, I have a small 5 year old miniature dachshund/miniature poodle/min pin mix & for the last two days she's been excessively been throwing up her food & afterwards a yellow fluid. Puppy Biting help! How much is normal?

My 16 week goldendoddle has been chewing alot however she keeps on nipping/biting people Ive tried the yelping method, the stern no, and then proper toy. However I am just worried because i don't know if this is normal? I looked up signs of puppy aggression and she doesn't really have any of those signs. Also there are two older dogs in the house and she roughhouses to the extreme with them. They do not show any signs of aggression when playing. ie tail, arched back, ect. My diabetic dog hates her shots? Help!?

She was diagnosed a few months back, and shot time is stressful on both the shot giver (either my brother or I) and my 12 year old lab mix. She rolls over, pushes us away with her paws, runs away, yelps loud when the shot is given, yelps loud when the needle is nowhere near her, and has even tried nipping at us, something I never thought she would do. Dog limping (back leg)?

My dog is a male 8 year old maltese/pekingese cross. Since last night he has not put his back right leg on the ground when he walks and is limping pretty bad, but his leg doesn't hurt when i touch it (I touched his foot, knee and the rest of his leg and he didn't yelp). This is weird because he was fine in the morning and then the dog groomer picked him up and took him to get his hair cut. I noticed that he was limping after she dropped him off back at my house. ello , I have a 5 month old Yorkie/ Maltese puppy. I have had him for three months and i have worked very hard in training him.I work 4 days a week and gone 8 hrs a day.He started separation anxiety a few weeks after i brought him home.I read and talked to trainers and studied like a collage course. I have 2 husky pups, male and female siblings, who are both 6 months old. They are being neutered and spayed this week so I am praying this behaviour calms down once this gets done, but anyway, the male is definitely the most dominant out of the two of them and is very possessive. They will allow me, my boyfriend and anyone else to take toys from them, go near their food and even put our hands on their food bowl without so much as a growl; they do everything we ask of them as we had them trained professionally so on the whole they are great dogs. However if the female so much as walks in the same direction as something that he thinks belongs to him, he will either growl at her or launch at her and they fight. We can buy them identical toys, but he isn't content with having just one, he wants her toy too. He thinks they are both his property and won't allow her to touch it without either a "back off" growl or starting a full blown fight with her. This doesn't happen on a weekly basis or anything, but has happened probably about 3 or 4 times since we got them. Yesterday, we gave them both a ball each to play with and he instantly attacked her when she picked her ball up, to the extent that she was yelping like crazy and we thought he was going to take her eye out because he was biting down on her face. No blood was drawn so I guess that's the only positive thing about it. As soon as we ordered him to stop, he did as he was told and stopped but I am getting sick of this. I have tried sitting between them when we give them toys and telling him to leave her, which he always does; however if we take our eyes off him for so much as a few seconds he will go and take whatever she has got. Usually she will give up without a fight but obviously some days she won't be so happy to give away what she has and that's when he gets mad. Is there anything I can do to stop this? I won't get rid of one of them, that is literally the LAST option before I have tried everything else I possibly can try, so please don't suggest this. If anyone can offer some suggestions that are actually helpful and not abusive, that would be great. I would also appreciate no answers that consist of something along the lines of me being incompetent as an owner because if that was the case, they wouldn't obey anything I said.

I took my Chihuahua who is 2 years old to the vet today for a parvo and distemper shot. I was told they only give a 6 way so I had it done. I dropped my Cocker Spaniel ( Who Means everything to me) off to get her hair cut at the grooming facilities at our Petsmart store here in the city. I was called 3 hours later to be told that un unfortunate accident occurred and that my dog was Transferred across the hall to the Pet Hospital for stitches. They explained over the phone to me that while shaving the dogs head, she (licked) the clippers and lacerated her tongue. I proceeded to ask when I could come to get her and they said they would call--- they never called- about 3 hours later I call them and they explain that shes still unconcious, hooked up to a catheter and an IV. I leave immediately to arrive to all the higher ups consoling me, as at this point I am crying and very confused, knowing that somethings are not making sense. They hand me a plastic bag that has her leash and collar inside (soaking wet and ruined) they say "we accidentally "dropped" these in water) sorry". I ask to see my dog, they refuse as she was taking some time to "come out of it". Finally, I recieve her back, and shes playful, but very lethargic due to the drugs- The Doctor tells me for 10 days, twice a day she is to be on a strict soft food regimen, and is required to have her medicine twice a day- to have an entire day open for the appointment to remove the stitches. They told me they would all be calling me personally to see what the progress of the dog was over the next couple of days. The receptionist added "honestly, your taking this a lot worse than your dog is" and pointed out that the blood all over her jacket was that of my dog. They didnt charge me for the surgeries they performed or the groom that was HALF performed. They offered (but never gave me) a coupon for a free groom for next time. After returning home, I continued to observe my dog as she bled through her stitches, yelped and cried throughout the night. The following day, I heard not one word from Petsmart. None of the employees called to check like they said or anything, the only call that I recieved was from the receptionist at the hospital- she left a message. I still dont know the name of the actual person who groomed my dog. They told me "she was only scheduled until 5", as I stood there at 5:15pm. demanding to know what was really going on. So Now, I have written to Corporate and they write back saying it may take 3 to 5 days to hear back on their personal resolution, meanwhile Im working on keeping my dog as comfortable as possible. I have no idea how to handle this!! Please offer me your advice- what would you do??
